Gastritis

An individual suffering from gastritis will complain of abdominal pain, indigestion, loss of appetite due to abdominal bloating that is associated with nausea and vomiting. According to the medical practitioners there could be many underlying problems that lead to gastritis infection. When there is a bacterial infection like helicobacter pylori, it may cause inflammation in the internal lining of the stomach.

Gastritis is a common condition associated with alcohol addiction or in case of prolonged usage of non steroidal antiinflammatory drugs. Today most people do not find the time to check with a doctor and they easily pop in an ibuprofen or aspirin at even the slightest headache. But there could be many side effects that are associated with a prolonged usage of these drugs.

Gastritis is observed in patients who have undergone a major surgery or when they are recovering from a traumatic injury, burns or other sever infections. The doctor may investigate the various symptoms by conducting gastroscopy, blood tests, complete blood count test and a stool test in order to identify the underlying causes of gastritis infection. The doctor may prescribe antacid medication, antibiotics in case of a bacterial infection and the patient would be advised to make changes in diet like avoiding the intake of hot and spicy food until the problem has been resolved.
