Cirrhosis Causes

Cirrhosis is described as a chronic liver disease that leads to fibrosis of the liver tissue thus impairing liver function. It has been found that cirrhosis affects large number of individuals who are addicted to alcohol or if they have been suffering from hepatitis C infection. There may be various other Cirrhosis causes like  Non alcoholic steatoheptitis or NASH, primary biliary cirrhosis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, autoimmune hepatitis, hereditary haemochromatosis, wilson’s disease, Alpha 1 anti trypsin deficiency and cardiac cirrhosis.

It certain cases it has been found that when there is chronic right sided heart failure it leads to liver congestion that could also be a cirrhosis causes. Several hereditary factors also play an important role in the incidence of cirrhosis. When there is a family history where the parents of an individual were afflicted with cirrhosis , this combined with skin pigmentation, diabetes mellitus, cardiomyopathy and other factors may contribute to the development of cirrhosis in a non alcoholic.

Most alcoholics who have been addicted to alcohol for over a decade will be affected by cirrhosis infection and are the most common form of cirrhosis causes. There will be a reduced metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. They may also show signs of cirrhosis causes like hepatitis associated with excessive alcohol in blood, heptomegaly, anorexia and jaundice.
